Redeem cash / money order with Malaysia Identity card

Start from 14 of June 2008, you can redeem cash or money order from government for your vehicles (personal) at any Malaysia post offices. The redemption process is simple where you just need to bring your own Malaysia Identity card, of course, and yourself, of course, and vehicle plate numbers to any of the post offices. Get a form from officer and fill up the form then pass it to officer. It will take few minutes for the clarification and approval, once it is finished then you are required to stamp your finger print on the form to complete the whole process. After that, you will receive cash from the officer. If you have at least one vehicle which aren't more than 2000 cc, you are required to fill up one form for each vehicle that you own.

The redemption is only applicable for those people who renews their road tax on April and May. For those who will renew their road tax at the following month, they can redeem after the road tax renewal.

The redemption rates:
Car - RM625.00 for each
Motorbike - RM150.00 for each
Note: Maximum of 5 vehicles (combination of cars and motorbikes) are allowed for each owner
